The C-37A is the civil administration aircraft version of the Gulfstream V and is primarily used to transport government and Department of Defense officials and their crews.

The aircraft contains a modern flight control system with a global satellite-based global positioning system. The C-37A is based on the Gulfstream V high-altitude intercontinental jet that can fly between 41,000 and 51,000 feet. Features include improved weather radar, autopilot and a modern display specifically for the pilot. Safety features include enhanced vision systems that increase visibility in all weather conditions. The aircraft is equipped with both commercial and communications equipment to provide secure and non-secure voice and data capability.
